Gyraf Audio G23-S Mastering EQ
I wanted to share some exciting new gear news with you. I’ve just invested in the Gyraf Audio G23-S, a top-of-the-line mastering equaliser, and I can’t wait to start using it in my studio. If you’re not familiar with the G23-S, it’s a boutique piece of gear that’s made in Denmark and has been gaining a lot of attention in the mastering world lately.

So what makes the G23-S so special?
For starters, it’s an all-analog equaliser that uses high-quality components and a minimal signal path. This means that it can add warmth, depth, and character to your recordings without sacrificing transparency or accuracy.
The unit is a unique ’tilting’-type equaliser aimed mainly at mastering, for situations where you have a mix that is already nearly-perfectly balanced, but want to ’tilt’ it towards being a tad darker or brighter without messing up the overall definition.
Two personalities in one box

This is the recently released “S version” which now contains two entirely different topologies. You have the option of a tube gain stage based on 6H23n (E88CC/6922) tubes, which are combined with classic transformer-balanced input and output interfacing. Or you can go for a cleaner approach where the inputs are now integrated balanced differential receivers, the tone circuit itself is handled by a high-grade opamp, and the outputs are driven by state-of-the-art active servo balancing circuits.
One of the things I love about the G23-s is its flexibility. It has the tilt EQ plus three bands of EQ, each with a selectable frequency range. This gives me a lot of creative options when shaping the sound of a track.
Made in Denmark

Another great feature of the G23-S is its build quality. The unit is hand-built in Denmark and uses top-notch components, including custom-wound transformers and high-grade capacitors. The attention to detail and craftsmanship are evident in every aspect of the G23-S, from the sturdy chassis to the smooth, precise controls.
Of course, investing in a piece of gear like the G23-S is not something to be taken lightly. But I truly believe that it will take my audio game to the next level and allow me to deliver even better results for my clients. If you’re interested in hearing what the G23-S can do for your music, send me your next project and hear for yourself.
Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Cheers
Steve
